I don't know what we were thinking with this coffee table. It's okay, but would be so hard to clean the dust out of the grooves.
I'm so glad I was able to find this one on their website. Called today and was able to get it exchanged. I couldn't be more happier with our final decision. It's more of our style anyway.
I'm getting very anxious to get all of our furniture/decor in the house. It will be nice to see it all come together. We have just a little over 2 months left before we move in! All we have left to buy is paint and a deep freeze. The paint is more of a want whereas the deep freeze is a must have since we are butchering a cow this winter and sharing it with Mike's brother.

Weekend Recap
Saturday I watched the Allen boys while their mom and dad helped pour the concrete floor for their new house. That afternoon I left the boys with mom and headed to a bridal shower. We had a great time and she got a lot of nice gifts. It was also nice to catch up with some girls I haven't seen in a couple of months. That evening after the boys left Mike and I headed into Rolla to pick up some groceries. It's still hard to adjust to the "new" Walmart.
Sunday Mike and I headed to the Lake to look at furniture. We went to Slumberland and finally found a set we could both agree on and it was on sale! I will post pictures soon. Afterward we headed to Mike's house to eat dinner where we were entertained by little miss Kylie.

Wow
Wow is about all I have to say with this picture. Who knew there was a trailer that could make farm life in the hay field so much easier. I came across this picture from the Pioneer Woman's blog. It's a trailer that unloads the hay bails for you. How neat is that? This would be a good investment with the Holtmeyer's, but then again where would we spend our free time sitting and chit chatting on our four wheelers while Mike's dad or brother unloads them?! ;) I have to say this is about the neatest piece of farm equipment ever invented! Doesn't take much to please me, does it?

Blake & Nathan
Last night I picked up the Allen boys after work so their mommy and daddy could attend a meeting with Blake's teacher. Desmon, a neighbors little boy had to come play with his Blake. So mom picked him up after work as well. They had a lot of fun playing cops in a shoot out.
Blake loves his baby brother.
Dad & Nathan stuck in TV.
Blake riding his bull.
Blake & Desmon taking a "cop break".
Nathan was fighting to sleep and wanted his big brother.

Weekend Recap
Friday Mike and I stayed home.
Saturday was a major deep cleaning day for me. Got everything done and got ready for the evening. We had a truck full and headed to the Truck & Tractor pull in St. Anthony. My friend Danielle came along with us along with Mike's brother Randy, cousin Matthew and his friend Brandon. They kept us entertained the whole way. Never a dull moment around Matt and Brandon. After the pull we headed back to St. Elizabeth for a wedding dance.
This was the only "good" picture of the two of us. Can you tell we missed each other?
Sunday we stayed at Mike's house and had dinner or well breakfast. ;) Consisted of pancakes, eggs, bacon and some sweet corn! What a combo. Mike's mom was trying to get rid of the corn before it went bad. Went for a four wheeler ride then headed back to my house where mom had fixed tacos for supper. Ended the evening watching the season finale of Army Wives.
Monday was my day off! Mom had a doctors appointment in Jefferson City so a good excuse to take off and go shopping. I was pretty proud of myself I didn't buy any clothes at all. I did purchase a pair of sandals at Target since my flip flops were starting to put a blister between my toes and managed to find a shower curtain so one small check off my list we need to buy. We ate at El Jimador for lunch. Usually I'm not a huge fan of that place but I really liked it this time. I had the chicken tostada lunch special, it was delish! Before heading home we checked out some furniture stores and still no luck. Seems like everything is the same; either too masculine looking, too girly or just poor quality. Mike and I plain to look later this week or next week, wish us luck! At least we have a rug to sit on! ;)

Maurices Splurge
I know I've said before that I need to save money for the house, but I couldn't resist and just had to splurge on an outfit for the wedding last Saturday. I will probably wear it to another wedding in September anyways. Just all depends on the weather since the wedding is outdoors.
I love chunky rings. Although I only own two. :(
Wasn't sure if I was a fan of these type of shirts with the bagginess at the bottom, but I love this one!

Wednesday Ramblings
- Ready for fall to get here. This hot weather we've been having has been a drag.
- My birthday is about a month away! :o)
- Looking forward to the hot rod pull this weekend in St. Anthony.
- Starting next month I will be bowling in a coed league in St. Elizabeth. Not so sure about this since I've only bowled 3 times my whole life. So we shall see...
- My Brazilian Blowout is gone for good! But with that said my hair still isn't near as frizzy as it used to be.
- Loving my grapefruit facial wash, works great!
- Thinking about purchasing a cheap/gas saver car, know of any?
- Looking forward to next Monday. A day off shopping with mom!
- And less than 3 months and we will be moved into our house! ;)
Wedding Pictures
Weekend Recap
Friday we stayed home since we had a wedding on Saturday for Mike's cousin Jennifer.
Saturday was the big day for Josh & Jennifer (Frey) Kixmiller. Wedding was at noon and thank goodness everything was inside the hall. It was a hot hot day! Despite the heat the wedding was beautiful and we had a great time. Mike and I ended up staying after the dance was over to help clean up. Made for a long day/night.
Sunday I headed home to get some cleaning done and took a rather much needed nap while Mike watched the races. That evening dad fixed deer meat, fried potatoes and corn for supper.

House Purchase
So much for a living room set first. So far Mike and I have had no luck in finding anything even close to what we like. So for now it looks like we will be sitting on the floor! :o)
Last night I went to Lowe's with mom and bought a bath rug for $14.95, looks way more expensive and is so soft, its off white with tan squares. After browsing around I found an area rug (shown in the picture) I really liked. So looks like our first big purchase may be a rug and a television this weekend. Me personally I don't think we need two TV's but Mike insists that we do, especially when football starts back up and with Nascar. So he may have a point there. May have to talk him out of it or at least for the time being until we for sure get everything we absolutely need. Not like a rug is something we need, but my toes are saying otherwise come this winter! ;) Plus it's not too expensive compared to most rugs you find. With this being said, looks like we will be painting the living room an ivory or a light tan and accent it with blue, sage and brown colors. I like the red that is currently in there but not crazy about it. I'm sure it is because my mom's living room was that same color for years. Now it is blue and looks so much better than before. I guess my grandma was right, the red walls was making the walls close in on you and in her exact words, "It's God awful"! I think the lighter walls will brighten the house up so that is a plus.

I tried my hardest to get Nathan to say April like shown in this video, but all he would say is momma and laugh. I think the little stinker did that on purpose! ;)

Weekend Recap / Week Ahead
Friday I met Mike and his neighbor Roger to headed over to help Mike's brother Randy load up his cows and bring them back to their farm.
Saturday I headed home to get ready for a family reunion at our lake in Vichy while Mike played in the kickball tournament at St. Elizabeth. Turned out to be a good day for the reunion and I didn't take any pictures. It's a great location for it, but still doesn't feel like our traditional Lennaman (My Grandma Elrod's side of the family) reunions which for years was held at Meremec Springs.
Sunday I slept in and stayed home to watch the Allen boys. We had fun all afternoon and evening. Tried to play some outside but it was just too darn hot or at least for baby Nathan anyway.
Week ahead...
Tonight my plans include deep cleaning since I may put off mowing until Thursday since it's a scorcher outside the beginning of this week. Working inside sounds so much better on days like today.
Tuesday I am picking up Nathan after work and heading home so we can spoil him some more while his mommy and daddy take Blake for his Kindergarten orientation or whatever its called.
Wednesday - no plans
Thursday - Possible mowing day
Saturday Mike's cousin is getting married at St. Elizabeth.
Sunday I have a bridal shower to attend.

10 Facts about ME
1. I will be 25 on September 19th.
This has been really bugging me since.. oh last year when I turned 24! Where does the time go!? Starting to feel really ancient, and I know I know I'm not that old. Like my mom always tells me it's better to die old than to die young. Which she is right, guess mother knows best! At least my insurance should go down so that is a plus!
2. I'm very self conscious of myself and my appearance.
I try not to be but it's in my nature and deep down I do care what people think of me with every aspect of my life.
3. I'm about 5'2 tall or short, however, you look at it.
I love that I am short although it has its downsides like finding the perfect pair of jeans that don't drag on the ground.
4. I'm a graphic designer.
It has it's perks like seeing your hard work in magazines all sleek and pretty. Downside is it doesn't seem to challenge me enough and I want a career to where I feel more challenged.
5. My baby toes barely has a toenail, literally!
I thank my grandma Feeler for this. There's a nail but it's a little hard to find.
6. My favorite food is grape salad.
You can click here to get the recipe. It's oh so good!
7. I have not one but two nephews on the "loan".
It may be years before I'm actually an aunt but for now I enjoy spending my free time spoiling Blake & Nathan. They're such a joy to be around.
8. I love shoes but when it comes to that perfect black heel I always end up wearing the pair I bought two years ago from... drum roll please... Dollar General for $3.
They are super comfortable and never hurt my feet. May have to do a future post of these heels with a picture. ;)
9. The memories I treasure the most are those spent with my grandparents.
It's a special bond that no one can break.
10. I am truly blessed and happy with my life!
I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a wonderful family and boyfriend.

Customizing
I was playing around on nike.com and knew you could create your own Nike shoe with Nike ID but didn't realize the extent to it. Kind of neat putting your name on it making it personally yours! ;) But for $135 plus shipping I don't see a purchase in the near future. I would rather spend that money towards housing stuff. Maybe I will splurge after the house is furnished and the holidays is over with etc. But even with that said I'm not sure I can bite the bullet and spend that much for shoes. Wishful thinking!
NEW Body Wash
I posted a couple months back about a body wash I really loved. Well just my luck that the next time I needed to purchase more Wal-Mart didn't carry it or just at that time. So I bought Body Essence Raspberry and LOVE it even more. It smells sooooo good like fresh raspberries! I highly recommend it! :o)
Gordoz' Fabulous New Location & Building
I cannot wait to try Gordoz here in Rolla along highway 63. They relocated from their old location out on highway 72 in Rolla, which just opened a few weeks ago. I've never ate there, but mom and dad did at their old location and really liked their food especially the steaks. I think Mike and I will have to give it a try very soon!

Team Roberto? Team Chris?
Last night I tuned into the final episode of the Bachelorette. I've only watched the two past seasons all the way through and was hooked. Usually its a clear choice at the end who they should choose, but this time I was a little torn. Seemed like the bachelorette Ali had two very down to earth guys to pick from who both loved her very much and wasn't in it for the fame. I was rooting more for Chris, but I think his late connection with Ali may have hurt him in the long run. Both of them seemed to be the perfect match for her, end the end Roberto won her heart. They seemed to be very happy. Maybe Chris will be the next Bachelor!

Bret Michaels
Exciting day for Rolla today. Bret Michaels tour bus had to make a pit stop at John's Firestone to fix some tires. Unfortunately he wasn't on the bus, they were coming from California and dropped him off in Arizona for some film taping before heading to New York for a concert. But lucky for me since I'm with the paper a co-worker Alissa and I went to get pictures and interviews from the crew and a few bands members. They were all very nice and down to earth. Alissa is huge huge fan of Bret's so I let her have the last autographed picture of him. And of course the one day I don't straighten my hair and give a crap about what I wear happens to be this DAY! :o)

It's Official
For some of my readers you already know Mike and I have been in the process of purchasing a house for the last month or two. As of this past Saturday the house is ours, it's located in Mike's hometown of St. Elizabeth! Although it won't feel completely ours until we are able to move into it. Which that won't be until around November, :( since the current homeowners are in the process of building a house and it will be finished around that time. For the meantime it gives us plenty of room to save and buy all the things we will need. First on our list, is a living room set!
Isn't she a beaut?
I will keep you all posted through this exciting leap we are about to take.
