Help!

I need your help in deciding which rug I should choose. Back in August I purchased this multi colored rug at Lowes.

I really like it, but I'm afraid it's too much of a statement piece for us. You're probably thinking geez April it's just a rug... but it's a rug I will have to look at everyday!

Yesterday I purchased a couple of door mats at Lowe's and stumbled across a very soft shaggy rug. It is similar to the picture below. I was unable to located the exact one online. The color is the same but with a light tan color added to it. So it's an off white and tan in four large squares. The colors are so similar that you can't notice the difference right off the bat. Plus it's about $20 cheaper.

I love the way this shag feels and it's not too much of a shag to where it will be hard to vacuum. Although it is a light color and will show dirt more. Plus the multi rug does have all colors I want in my living room.

So I'm asking for your honest opinion! Do you prefer the multi or the light shag? I'm not sure how to post a poll directly in this post. So therefore my poll is to the right of my blog page or you can just leave you comment on this post. Thank you so much for you help!

Weekend Recap

Friday I had to work late so I just stayed home afterward since Mike had to bowl.

Saturday morning Mom and I headed to the Christmas Market and stopped in at Oak Harvest in town. We wasn't ready to go home so we decided to head to St. Robert. I thought we were going to get lost since Mom wanted to take the long way there from 133 and ended up taking a county road. I was disappointed my camera was being stubborn and wouldn't let me take a picture of a wolf watching some cattle. Yes a wolf! It wasn't a dog and way too big to be a coyote, so it had to be? Wasn't sure as to where this road would lead us to since there was hardly any houses on this road and it was kind of creepy. After finally seeing highway we realized we didn't make it very far from our N Hwy turn off. Oh well we had time to kill and saw new country. Shopped a little in St. Robert before heading to Rolla to JCPenneys. As mom constantly kept saying, "It was a beautiful day". And that it was!

That evening Mike and I went with Mom and Dad to eat at Randy's Road Kill & BBQ. Headed into Rolla to bowl. We had a lot of fun bowling and watching mom yell at the ball going down the lane.

Sunday was a family dinner at the house to celebrate my grandpa's 86th (November 6th) and Mike's 28th birthday (November 10th). I forgot to take a picture of grandpa's card I gave him along with the pictures. I had bought his card a month ago and not realizing it, the theme went "perfectly" with the pictures of grandpa and I dancing when I was a toddler. Before grandpa and grandma left he had to do a gig for me to let me know he still had it in him. :) It was another beautiful day celebrating it with family. After everyone left my cousin Ashlyne and I watched Freedom Writers. It was a good movie. Did some laundry, packed a few more things for the move, and ended the evening watching Desperate Housewives.

Would this scare you?

Well it sure scared me!

Thanks to a carrier this creepy 6 foot statue appeared in our break room last week and was there to stay all week long. Every time I would go in the break room, I would always forget and about have a heart attack turning the lights on to this starring at me. It was so real looking and very creepy.

Wednesday Ramblings - A Day Late!

Sorry it's a day late.

Work has been hectic, but a very good one at that. The work days are going by so fast which I LOVE and not to mention I don't have to deal with a jerk anymore. I knew the coworker that quit a couple of weeks ago had left me with a big mess to clean up. After figuring it all out on my own and a pay raise to boost my motivation, it's been well worth it. I can tell with everyone the atmosphere is so much more pleasant now.

I'm so thankful Mike had the time since I've been so busy with work on checking with other insurances with the house. We found one in Jeff that is even cheaper plus with all three of our vehicles added to it. Can't beat that!

Well speaking of the house our date to move in keeps changing. It may be Thanksgiving weekend and it maybe the weekend after. It's all up in the air. At least we don't have to be in at a certain time. Would like to be in sooner, but we will take what we can get.

Furthermore, I'm sorry if I keep rambling on about the house. That's basically been our life the past few months.

I've been trying to tell myself not to buy anything else for the house unless we absolutely need it. Well that idea didn't last long! Went to Rolla last night with mom and found Christmas ornaments that actually match our future living room. Wasn't planning to match it with my color scheme or to buy ornaments, just happened to stumble across some blue and brown ornaments that I couldn't resist. ;) Which makes mom happy, she gets my Christmas tree bows that I bought last year. I bought 4 rolls of tree ribbon after Christmas last year marked down to $3 each. They were originally $15-$20. Maybe I will have to wait until after Christmas this year to find another bargain like that.

Weekend Recap

Friday night Mike and I stayed in.

Saturday I slept in and got all my cleaning done. My uncle brought his grandson down to show off his small buck he killed. He was pretty proud of it. That afternoon I got ready and headed to St. Elizabeth. Mike and I drove around for awhile to kill some time before heading to the community center for their Halloween dance. It's crazy how I went from just knowing Mike to now knowing just about everyone in St. Elizabeth. It's a small town but I love it and I'm very pleased to call it my home town - in a little under a month that is! ;)

Sunday we went to my grandma and grandpa's for dinner to have none other than BISCUITS and HOMEMADE gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade syrup and jelly. Can't beat anything that is homemade and made by a very special lady, my wonderful grandma Feeler! Unfortunately it would have asked too much of us to have grandma make the biscuits so they were store bought, but it tasted just about the same. Dad helped her out by scrambling the eggs. Grandpa told me I needed to put the word in more often for a dinner like that. He's already looking forward to the next one and so am I! After dinner we were entertained by my little cousin Lizzy, she is a riot!

Later Mike and I headed to Lowe's to pick up some last minute items on our house list. We are now shooting for Thanksgiving weekend to move in. Not too happy on that, but there is nothing we can do. At least we should have a nice 4 day weekend to try and get painting done and to move in on that Sunday.

Mom fixed her annual Sunday supper which consisted of Chili and grilled cheese. We had a few trick-or-treaters. Watched Desperate Housewives and called it a night!
