Birthday tradition

For no rhyme or reason, we always end up sitting in the same spot each year. Grandma had skin cancer removed from her nose so that's why she looks a little rough.

Blowing out the candles. Grandma didn't get that memo as she is still smiling pretty for the camera. :)

Grandma loves getting quirky things that make her laugh. My aunt katie found this laughing dog, it was hysterical and perfect gift for grandma

Not sure on this one. I think Lizzie told me to smile and I was getting impatient as she was taking FOREVER! lol

Here's the video of the laughing dog. I haven't replayed it and can't here at work to see if you can actually hear it or just everyone else laughing. lol

Baby Shower

Kaden got to open a present as well. His birthday was last Friday, the 16th.

Cheeeese. He always asks me my name every time he sees me. So this time when he did, I asked him what his name was. His response: Kaden Michael Fearrrr (Feeler) lol
I was trying different settings so I messed up on this picture. But hey, it still beats the old crappy camera any day.

New Camera

Here is a picture of what my camera looks like only it's silver, not tan. I love it! I haven't played around too much with it yet. It has different settings to use like for snow, rain, food, portraits, and TONS more.

Mike and I aren't the type to constantly take self portraits of ourselves but I wanted to try it out. :)

Take one.

Take two was a mistake. lol Didn't realize you could actually take a picture from just touching the screen instead of just the button on the top.

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday
I went to Sarah's house for a Tupperware party. A nice evening visiting with the girls while enjoying some good food. Came home to an early birthday present from Mike, a new camera! I was a little shocked he remembered the brand of camera I wanted. It's a Nikon Coolpix with a touchscreen.

Saturday
Mike, Randy and I headed to a wedding in Westphalia for Wyatt & Liz Voss. We didn't make it in time for the wedding since they didn't get back in time from hauling Lisa's car to the junk yard. After we arrived there was a constant traffic of sirens with ambulance after ambulance. We learned there was a bad wreck just a mile from there. It was a little hard to enjoy the happy wedding celebrating two people coming together knowing just up the road there was at least one person dead. We ended up leaving the reception a little early and headed back home.

Sunday
Birthday celebration day! It's tradition for our family to always have Sunday dinner to celebrate my grandma and I's birthday. I always feel so stupid now that I am older with celebrating it. I know that if it wasn't for my grandma still being alive that it would only be celebrated with just my immediate family. But I need to look at it as a blessing since I won't have my grandma forever to share our special holiday together. I think it's more the fact I don't want my older cousins to have resentment towards me with having big birthdays still where as they don't. I know it's silly, but I don't like the feeling of people feeling like that even if they aren't. We also had a surprise baby shower for my cousin Krissi who is due a week from today. Can't wait to meet little Kaleb Russell Feeler. I was secretly hoping he would have arrived on grandma's birthday, which was Sunday.

Monday
BiRTHDAY! Monday was a "me" day. It felt just like any other day. Got a lot done around the house including moving the living room furniture around. I think I moved it around about 5 times before finally deciding. I am so my mother's child! Mike had a dentist appointment which he had to wait about an hour just to get in so we skipped going out to eat. I went ahead and fixed chili then we headed to the farm to enjoy the nice weather and to check and feed the cows. Ended the evening watching the new Two and Half Men, which I am not a fan or supporter of Charlie Sheen at all. The new show with Ashton didn't seem too bad at all.

Wednesday Ramblings

...So looking forward to my three day weekend. To me my birthday is just another day, but it will be so nice to have Monday off and not be at work.

...My goal for the end of this month is to get all the paint touch ups done. I am so embarrassed I put it off this long and it needs done asap.

...Really wanting a new job in a different field like NOW! lol Not sure what!? Everything out there I am either not qualified for or it pays less. Ready for a work change. With that said, I am going to cut this rambling short so I can get back to work. Blah.

Serving tray

Last month when mom and I went shopping I bought this serving tray at Kohls. I did get it on sale, but it was still a little pricey. I love it and it will come in handy with my grandma's delicious cheese balls.

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday
Mike and I took Jake with us to the Truck & Tractor Pull since Steve had to bowl and his momma was working. I was a little skeptical on going since it was a torrential down pour at our house, but felt confident it would clear up. Plus hoping we wouldn't be one of those people who take a little kid to suffer in the wet and cold. lol On our way there we saw the most beautiful rainbow I have EVER seen. I couldn't get the greatest photo to capture the beauty of it. You could see the entire thing and it was so full of color. I ranted and raved about it, forever. Which probably got a little old after I awhile, but I didn't care it was breath taking, literally. Mike tried to steer Jake for the excitement of the big tractors we were about to see. He wasn't having it, he was in awe of the rainbow as well. He's my kind of kid.

Here's a few photos, again the pictures are horrible. I so need a new camera. Hmmm... I do believe someone has a birthday coming up. :)

Finally after paying a fortune to get in, the rain had stopped. But by the time we walked up to the pavilion it started to rain yet again. It was so packed and little miserable trying to wait out the rain. Luckily after a couple of hours it finally let up enough to start the pull and Jake was a little wore out which worked to my advantage. He made a nice blanket while watching the tractors. :) We ended up leaving before the truck pull started since Mike had to work the next day and Steve was done bowling.

Saturday
I got up too early to start cleaning the house and tackling laundry. Come to think of it now I should have slept in. Made a few desserts for Sunday and again more cleaning.

Sunday
Sunday was party day. Finished up my appetizers and waited for everyone to start showing up. I'm not sure why I was so nervous, but I was. Didn't invite too many since I wasn't sure how much my house would hold and the fact that I don't want people to feel force to buy, I hate that feeling. I've mentioned before and I am mentioning it again (For I am Arch Feeler's granddaughter so I am allowed to repeat myself several times throughout my life. It's a golden rule.) that Mike's sister Lisa is now a consultant for Jordan Essentials. She did a great job and the party was a success. It was so nice to see everyone and to catch up on everyone's busy lives. I made way too much food. Guess it's better to have more than not enough. After everyone left I pigged out on some cheese ball, watched 9/11 stories and called it a night.

After ten years of the 9/11 tragedy this weekend was full of remembrance, embrace and one we will never forget.

Wednesday Ramblings

...Hard to believe the 10th anniversary is coming up this Sunday for 9/11. I remember where I was to a "t". When I first heard about it was on the radio my way to school in mom's car just as we were passing by my friend Kindra's house. It was so surreal to think about. When I got to school teachers were crying, tvs were on and life as we knew it would never be the same in America. I didn't understand the full aftermath until I was watching it on TV then to hear and see ANOTHER plane hit. So sad to think about with the lives lost and those final moments. It will definitely be a day I won't ever forget, nor anyone else in our country.

...I posted a few weeks ago that my Scentsy was coming in. Well... it's still not here! August was swarmed with orders all over the country since they brought back bars and bars were being discontinued. Can't wait to get it in so my house can smell even better! I just got word it should be in Friday. Crossing my fingers!

...I love dark chocolate!

...Work is yet again starting to pick back up. Darn it.

...Last week we got an obituary for an elderly man with the name, Atholl. It's pronounced exactly how you think it would be. lol No wonder he went by a nickname. Poor man.

...It's already that time of the year for Mike's bowling leagues to start back up. First game is this Friday. Luckily he doesn't bowl so we can go to the St. Anthony Truck & Tractor Pull.

...I AM LOVING THIS WEATHER! :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday
Mike and I headed to eat supper at Kittys and to celebrate a surprise birthday party for a friends' dad.

Saturday
We headed to a wedding in St. Thomas for Justin & Becky Otto. Turned out to be a beautiful day for it despite the heat.

Sunday
The day started out a little cold and cloudy. It still didn't stop us from going floating for our annual Jon Boat float trip. I had on sweat pants, shorts and a shirt over my swimming suit and a tank top. lol Luckily after an hour or so of being on the water the sun came out. I didn't bring any sunscreen nor did anyone else so we are all paying for it today. Aloe has been my best friend the past few days. :) We had a lot of fun and ready to do it again next year! I think we spent more time floating back up than anything. Literally! Good thing two of the Jon boats had motors on them and one had a trolley motor. lol Or we would have got NO WHERE! There was another group floating on Jon boats. They didn't have any motors just the power of their arms with their oars. Made it to the first gravel bar and they decided to head back to where they started. lol

Monday
Played lazy the whole morning then finally tackled the mounds of laundry from over the weekend. Took a break and headed to Mike's mom and dads where his dad was frying fish. That evening Randy barbequed pork steaks for everyone. It's nice to live in town and have a great BBQ guy live across the street. lol
