Friday I was exhausted from a long day at work so we just stayed home. Mike's brother came over and they put together our bar stools. I LOVE them. They're a black color which I know it doesn't match very well with the rest of my furniture. But to me, black goes with everything, plus I don't like everything to be the exact same. Gets boring! I will have to take a picture and post it sometime this week.
Saturday I got up early to get the house ready for a weekend with the Allen boys. Mike had to help his uncle at the turkey house that morning and part of the afternoon. Which ended up being okay. The boys and I were able to eat lunch and all three of us got a nap in. After putting Nathan asleep, Blake and I watched the Princess and the Frog. It was a cute movie and before I knew it we were both asleep in the recliner. When Mike arrived we loaded up to see the little turkeys. They were about three weeks old. Nathan seemed to be interested in them until Mike decided to pick one up and it starting flopping everywhere. Then he knew for sure he didn't like them and was ready to go. Blake was fine with them since it wasn't his first turkey experience. My camera lens became foggy due to the heat in there, so we didn't capture any photos. After we headed to Mike's mom and dads house where we stayed there and played while Mike helped his dad. I think if the boys had it their way they could have stayed there the rest of the evening. They had fun playing with their old farm toys, which by the way still look brand new! As we were leaving Nathan kept going "Arf, Arf Arf, Arf" to the cows, I remembered his mom telling me he's been saying "arf" for all the animals. Blake and I tried to get his to say moo, but all he could do was grin and say.... arf! lol We did get him to say gobble gobble for the turkeys, it was cute. For supper I made stuffed pizza from my Bisquick cookbook. It was very good, recipe to come in another post. Mike ate about half of the pan and both boys had a full serving. After supper Blake and I made brownies topped with cheesecake. He was pretty proud of himself for breaking the egg all by himself and stirring the rest of the ingredients in. Ended the rest evening playing with the boys.
Sunday was a lazy morning for all of us. Nathan was the first to go to bed and the last to get up. He's not a morning person and takes him awhile to wake up, which I feel the same way most of the mornings - okay, maybe every morning. ;) So we sat in the recliner, got warmed up, ate cheerios and watched Spongebob Squarepants. Later we loaded up and headed to my mom and dads so they can have some time with the boys. Mom fixed her usual dinner for Valentine's Day consisting of a heart-shaped meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, which most were all in a heart shaped dish. For dessert she made half strawberry/half cherry delicious cake and chocolate chip cookies.
Glad you had fun with the boys! Blake told me he really liked playing with all the John Deere toys. Nathan was saying gobble gobble this morning when he woke up :) not sure where he got that from...
